NEET PG 2021 exam postponed by 4 months

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET PG 2021 has been postponed by at least 4 months. In an official order, the Prime Minister’s Office today announcd that the postgraduate medical entrance examination would not be conducted till August 31. This has been done so as to free the medical graduates for COVID19 duty. Also, candidates would be given at least a month to prepare for the examination.

“A decision was taken to postpone NEET-PG for at least 4 months and the exam will not be held before 31st August 2021. Students will also be given at least one month of time after announcement of exam before it is conducted. This will make a large number of qualified doctors available for Covid duties,” the Health Ministry said.

MBBS graduates, Medical personnel, nursing and all who complete 100 days of COVID duty would be given priority in the upcoming regular Government recruitments. Apart from this, the insurance scheme would be applicable. All such medical professionals would be suitably vaccinated, the government assured while urging the medical graduates to step forward and help the country. 

PM Narendra Modi on May 2, 2021 had reviewed various measures to augment human resources for managing prevailing COVID situation effectively. Government was expected to take up this option to ask medical and nursing students preparing for NEET PG 2021 to join the pandemic duty. In return, the Prime Minister’s Office has also offered incentives to medical graduates who decide to rake up the task.
